Welcome to our web site. It contains our current programme of talks, classes for beginners and astrology days for 2009, as well as online maps to show you how to get to us.

We also have a Links and Resources page, which includes links to other astrology sites of interest and a host of useful resources for astrologers, such as free software and downloadable maps and tables.

We update this site regularly, so please bookmark this page now!

Who Are We?

Aquarius Severn is a society, formed at 8:11pm on February 10th 1981 in Cheltenham (see the horoscope of its formation). It has the following aims:

• to help promote astrology and educate people as to its true nature and meaning.
   
• To provide a forum for astrologers for the exchange of ideas and mutual learning, and to encourage beginners.
   
• To provide a link with other related subjects.
   
• To arrange regular meetings, discussions, talks and social occasions.

Our Rules and Constitution lay out what is expected of members and committee members, and ensures that the society is run fairly and openly.

Annual Membership

Annual Membership is renewable in April each year, although 6 month membership can be taken out from October 1st.

Annual membership costs only £15 (or £22.50 for joint membership), and entitles you to a range of benefits, including:

• reduced entrance fee (a saving of £2 per talk),
• a free astrological report
• access to our expanding library of astrology books
• discounts off books at Pilgrims in Gloucester, who sell books (including astrology books), tapes, CDs, Incense, Tarot decks and more, designed to give you a spiritual uplift and improve the quality of life.

Please note that the free gift is only applicable during April, when taking out annual membership.

You can pay by credit or debit card using our new secure payment facility below, or alternatively, send a cheque, made payable to "Aquarius Severn", to The Studio, the Manor, Upper Slaughter, Cheltenham, GL54 2JG.

Half Year Membership

6 month membership can be taken out starting October 1st, for £7.50, or £11.25 for joint membership.

Astrology Classes for Beginners

To register your interest in astrology classes for beginners, please email us, stating your name, and whether you would prefer classes to be held in Cheltenham, Stroud or Gloucester. We will contact you when we have enough people registered to run a class of 10-14 students.

Library

Our library is growing, after we received a large donation of books recently, and we now have two library cupboards at 2 Wolseley Terrace. Members of Aquarius Severn can borrow books displayed at our talks and workshops, as well now as those we share with the Arcturus Rising group in Bristol, run by Chris Mitchell.

Current Programme

Our Astrology Days usually take place between 11am and 5pm at 2 Wolseley Terrace. Morning and afternoon refreshments are included, and lunch is available from the many nearby cafes and sandwich bars in nearby Montpellier.

As well as seeing details of our talks below, you can now download our April-June Programme (324kb). It is in Adobe Acrobat format, the highest quality for viewing and printing.

The programme has other information besides the listing of talks, such as the dates of planetary phenomena of interest to astrologers, such as Mercury Retrograde dates, sign-change dates etc.

If you do not have Adobe Acrobat freeware viewing/printing software (Acrobat Reader), it can be downloaded free of charge (15Mb). If you do not have a broadband connection, the software is often available on the CDs that come with computer magazines, or a friend may have it). The latest version is v.8.

Venue

We meet at no 2 Wolseley Terrace, Oriel Road, Cheltenham (next to the BT building close to Rodney Road car park). Our 'home', which is run by The Isbourne Holistic Education Centre has flexible space for talks and workshops, and facilities for displaying our excellent library of astrology books and magazines.

HOW TO GET TO WOLSELEY TERRACE

Take junction 11a on the the M5 motorway, if coming from the south.

NB: Wolseley Terrace is not marked on these maps. It is a private road off Oriel Road, between Vittoria Walk and Trafalgar Street.

Parking

The Rodney Road car park, which is just over the road from Wolseley Terrace, charges during the day (inc. Sundays and Bank Holidays) until 8pm, after which it is free of charge. There is some street parking in nearby Oriel Road, Vittoria Walk (parking allowed on double yellow lines on Sundays), and behind Isbourne, in front of The Queens Hotel.

Please do not try to park in Wolseley Terrace itself, as British Telecom, who are directly in front of us, get very upset!
